World Records: The 1308 people traditional throat singing simultaneously was achieved by KHOVD province and the World Association of Throat Singing (Mongolia) in KHOVD , Mongolia, on 30 October 2019


On October 30, throat singers will attempt to set a Guinness world record for 1308 people performing traditional throat singing simultaneously in Khovd city of Khovd aimag.

The event highly significant for safeguarding cultural heritage, enlightening people through the art of throat singing, and passing it down to the younger generation will be held by Local Council and Governor’s Office of Khovd aimag, and the World Association of Throat Singing.

Throat singing, the unique traditional heritage of Mongolia, is believed to be inspired by the natural sounds of wind, water and bird.
